El Nido Town Proper
Sibaltan, El Nido

Located on the east coast is El Nido’s cultural hotspot. In Sibaltan village, you’ll see two museums, meet a folk healer, and get to explore two rustic beaches and a pretty islet. This side of El Nido is rich with Cuyonon traditions. Seafarers from Cuyo, the small islands in eastern Palawan, would cross the deep seas and plant rice here in the mainland and come back during harvest season.

In Sibaltan, you’ll get to learn about these seafarers’ way of life through the Balay Cuyonon Museum and the huge wooden sailboat Pangko Maritime Museum. You’ll also meet a medicine man or folk healer called albularyo, and learn about his ways of ritual and herbal healing. After that, you’ll walk around fishing villages, swim in two long beaches (Buluang Beach and Sibaltan Beach), and have a chance to kayak to the charming Bubog Islet.
